Individual counsellingA space to understand what is happening underneath the surface.

You may know exactly what you want help with. You may only know that you are more tired, reactive, anxious, disconnected or stuck than usual. Individual counselling gives you a structured space to slow the situation down and understand what is contributing to it.

The work can be reflective or practical, and often both. The aim is to build a clearer picture of the pattern, then decide what is worth changing, accepting, practising, communicating or approaching differently.

People often bring concerns such as

  • Stress, emotional overload or burnout
  • Self-esteem, harsh self-criticism or approval-seeking
  • Grief, breakup distress or difficult transitions
  • Loneliness, disconnection or difficulty asking for support
  • Anger, irritability or reactions that feel disproportionate afterward
  • Procrastination, avoidance or habits that keep repeating
  • Relationship patterns that continue across different relationships
  • Career or life decisions that feel emotionally tangled
  • A sense of being stuck even when life looks functional from the outside

What sessions may involve

There is no fixed programme. Sessions may include mapping patterns, examining beliefs and assumptions, identifying emotional triggers, practising a different response, exploring a relationship dynamic, testing a behavioural change, or developing ways to tolerate difficult feelings without letting them make every decision.

The approach is adjusted to the concern and to how you work best. A structured exercise can be useful one week and unnecessary the next.

You do not need

  • A diagnosis before you begin
  • A crisis severe enough to justify seeking help
  • A perfectly stated goal in the first session
  • A willingness to discuss every part of your life immediately
